Oh thank god for my fine upbringing, decorum, and drive. I managed to enjoy a great show in Atlantic City and make my way into the sights of a very talented happy smiling Scotsman. I wish I had made more eye contact but I did manage an autograph (onto a VHS for chrissakes), as his book which I am sure is lovely ,is enroute from Amazon. The show was fantastic, I recorded most of it on my sony, I did not take a pic, I thought that was pushing my luck, I did slip a 20 to one of the door/security people that was perhaps wasted as Mr. F. was strolling about the room somewhat at 'Foundation' the private club of the House of Blues which I managed to crash before and after the show. I totally worked my way to a set back front row seat in the venue which was sadly and definitely not sold out. It was full but there was room to roam as I had a bit of guilty pleasure meeting Libby and Marianne, a couple of sisters from Pittsburgh my Mom's age who made it in to see him as 'specially' as I. There were 30-40 waiting for autographs, not bad out of 1500 at the event. They were called off and I chatted up the opener, took a twirl of the casino and headed back to where I had dinner at the 'Foundation' which was right up my alley on so many levels, from the brilliantly warm service (apart from a fickle barback) to the delish Polish Martini prior to my two course meal barside and the stinkin' Indian ambiance. I say guilty pleasures because Mr. Ferguson is a vocal alcoholic. I admire his courage and adore his person and talent. I had a pair of scotches in his honor and hope to share Girl Gang with him. He would make a dashing Dr. Goodlove, don't you think? He did about a half dozen accents tonight, He can do a 1950's american hearthrob in a wink of his Ma's doting eye. The packet and script are enroute.
